Policy Studies concentration in the MPA in Public Administration

This concentration provides students with an understanding of the dynamics of policy making and policy analysis. Students evaluate, analyze, and develop solutions to policy problems within the political and public arenas.

Degree Requirements (Catalog Year 2012-2013)

In addition to completing the 24 credits of required courses for the MPA, students receiving this concentration choose their 4 elective courses (12 credits) from the following.

  • PUAD 615, 622, 645, 646, 658, 661, 662, 663, 680, 727, 730, 749, 750, 781; GOVT 520, 605

PUAD 794 Internship and PUAD 796 Directed Reading and Research may be applied to the concentration when content is appropriate and with prior written approval of the MPA director. Other courses may also be applied to the concentration with prior written approval of the director.

Students may declare only one concentration.
